Summary Description: The Q41 Technical and Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing the technical group which consists of Process, Production, and Product Performance Engineers to support the needs of the paper machine. The Q41 Technical and Quality Supervisor manages Product development, raw material trial, and process optimization work to close gaps in areas of production, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage Technical group project load and project prioritization.
  • Prioritize safety and environmental compliance within technical group and project work.
  • Prioritize and support quality production. Assist in day-to-day quality troubleshooting and long-term strategic work for improved product performance.
  • Responsible for managing product development work and strategic cost saving projects.
  • Coordinate projects to address Realize-able Gaps.
Personal qualities

Required Experience and Education:

Minimum Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Commit to work safely and promote others to do so as well.
  • 5 years of experience in operations and/or technical responsibilities in manufacturing or BS degree in Engineering.
  • Ability to lead and work cooperatively and effectively with a team towards a common goal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Computer skills with strong Excel knowledge.
  • Confident self-starter with demonstrated ability to plan and organize.
  • Proven experience with: Leading and Advocating Change, Drive for Results, Communication, Managerial Courage, Building an Effective Team, and Managing through Systems.

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Strong communications, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as demonstrated abilities to champion change and influence others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to give encouragement, guidance, and direction to improve safety performance.
  • Self-starter able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.
  • Physical stamina and agility to conduct on-site inspections of the facility and equipment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with high-speed paper machine.
  • Strong operational papermaking skills with technical background, and customer focus.
