Lab Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for standardizing and maintaining all lab operations. Prep, Heat Treating, Macro Inspection, Metallography Evaluation, Mechanical Testing, and Magnetic Testing in a cost-effective manner that supports both internal and external customers.

  • Interfaces with internal technical personnel, Customers and outside Quality governing bodies to ensure testing follows industry standards.

  • Coordinate the procurement of supplies and services, which includes outside laboratory testing if required for the efficient operation of the lab.

  • Update, maintain and write standard operating procedures to support testing methods in all operation within the lab.

  • Ensure calibration of all required test/measurement equipment throughout the entire lab.

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Support quality team during to address quality issues and determine root cause for correction.

  • Supervise workers engaged in testing activities to ensure product conformity, high productivity and technical integrity.

  • Maintain active role in continuous manufacturing process improvements.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus 8 years lab experience, or bachelor's degree with 5 plus years of experience.

  • 5 plus years of Mechanical and Metallography Testing

  • Saw cutting and Machining knowledge
