Job Description

Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and activities to generate and maximize room night production and sales revenue in the leisure market (domestic, golf, and international wholesale, as well as ESP and travel agent/consortia markets).

Oversee, stimulate, guide, and support these distribution channels (wholesale, ESP and consortia, OTA's) to maximize room night production and sales revenue; maintain positive client communications and relationships; maximize exposure for the hotel while minimizing related expenses; and exceed overall budgeted revenue and occupancy for the leisure market.



Responsibilities

    Ensure full maximization of room night potential within the hotel's market segment strategy.
  • Maintain emphasis on exceeding established average rates.
  • Negotiating contracts, rates, and special offers, aligning with revenue management strategies
  • Representing resort at industry events, trade shows, and roadshows
  • Work closely with Marketing, Revenue, Reservations, and Front Office teams to ensure cohesive promotions and seamless guest experiences. Partner with Marketing and Recreation to continue to grow leisure demand through experiences.
  • Client relationship management: Maintain an updated client database, develop loyalty initiatives, and manage client follow-up.
  • Develop the golf leisure market for groups under 10 peak rooms
  • Identify new business opportunities by monitoring market trends, competitor performance, and client behavior.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement sales strategies/action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
  • Provide strategic planning and development of marketing strategies targeting the (wholesale, ESP, and consortia/travel agent) markets.
  • Stimulate productivity of all suppliers (wholesale, ESP, OTA's and consortia/travel agent) through strong relationships, communication, guidance, and support.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement creative ideas, promotions, incentives, and/or packages to fill identified need periods in all markets.
  • Maintain focus on a proactive solicitation and continuous improvement environment.
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.\
  • Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in (domestic, golf, and international wholesale) associations and trade shows.
  • Host site inspections and familiarization (FAM) trips, and provide personalized attention to VIP leisure guests
  • Basic Skills & Requirements:

    • Effective communication skills, written and oral, including group presentations. In addition, has a willingness to listen to the thoughts and ideas of others.
    • Has the ability to effectively influence others and engage clients and co-workers on difficult issues.
    • Financial analysis skills. The ability to assess potential business opportunities and whether or not they contribute to the success of the business.
    • The ability to inspire confidence in and gain respect from superiors, peers, subordinates, industry partners and competitors.
    • Enjoys interacting with customers and networking within the industry.
    • Project management skills (i.e., organizing, multitasking).
    • Creative and strategic skills.


Qualifications

    • Minimum three years travel industry/leisure experience.
    • Minimum three years experience in hotel or other related travel industry with a focus on domestic, golf, and international wholesale; internet; or customer identification; customer acquisition; packaging; and multiple travel distribution channels.
    • Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc. and knows how to sell against it.
    • Strong direct sales experience and existing travel industry relationships.
    • Understanding of (domestic, golf, and international wholesale) advertising and marketing.
    • Strong, accurate, and efficient skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...).
    • Detail oriented and able to work within a team environment.
    • Energetic, proactive and results focused approach to responsibilities.
    • Orlando/Florida market experience.
