DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role of the Equipment Operator A at the Farm Show Complex encompasses a wide range of duties that are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all equipment within the facility. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of equipment for various events hosted at the complex, ensuring that each event runs smoothly and meets established deadlines. Additionally, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the complex's grounds and buildings, which includes managing equipment operations, overseeing trash disposal and custodial tasks, performing general maintenance, and executing snow removal when necessary. The dynamic nature of the Farm Show Complex demands a proactive approach to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency, making it crucial for you to adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment while ensuring that all operational aspects are meticulously managed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a temporary, full-time position
  • This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
  • Available shifts:
    • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch
    • 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift differential is $1.25 an hour), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Free onsite parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience working around animals and livestock and in large-scale public events.
