Essential Job Responsibilities:
Summary/Objective:
The Maintenance Repairmen is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance of the equipment operated by the company. This may include equipment owned or leased by the company and/or equipment owned or leased by third parties.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on company mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Assist and perform with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, and mechanics.
  • Perform warehouse and/or terminal duties in connection with receiving, storage and distribution of materials as follows: Receive goods and materials and check them against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure correctness of merchandise and proper condition.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly conditions within the warehouse and/or terminal.
  • Perform general grounds keeping on a daily basis; insure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition.
  • May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
  • Provide input to the company regarding specifications of the operational equipment.
  • Evaluate maintenance programs to ensure they are accomplishing the intended objectives.
  • Constantly evaluate new technology as it is applied to equipment utilized by the company.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-4 years' experience working in maintenance
  • Journeyman's License as a Millwright preferred
  • Valid CPR certificate required
  • Must have valid DL
  • Experience with computerized operating systems
  • Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired
  • Required to observe all safety and health requirements for container terminal environment.




Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Work environment:


  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings and nights.
  • Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
  • The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment
  • The ability to operate various types of equipment.
