Description

Launch Your Next Mission: Special Security Officer (SSO) - Tinker AFB, OK.

Leidos is actively seeking a motivated Special Security Officer (SSO) to join our team at Tinker AFB. In this role, you'll carry out the full spectrum of SCI security operations supporting Air Combat Command (ACC) Wing-level initiatives. You'll also play a key role in managing SCI programs, guiding the operation of the Special Security Office, and providing critical support and direction to local and tenant SCIFs.

As the SSO, you'll be the go-to expert interpreting and applying the latest intelligence directives from the Director of National Intelligence, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Department of Defense-delivering top-tier technical advice and leadership on SCI personnel, physical, and information security.

Your Mission Includes:

  • Administer SCI directives, manuals, and regulations to uphold SSO responsibilities at the highest standard.

  • Ensure SCI is protected with rigor: properly handled, accounted for, transported, destroyed, and disseminated only to those with valid clearance and need-to-know.

  • Lead investigations into SCI infractions and prepare actionable reports for the Chief SSO.

  • Partner with collateral security leaders to ensure seamless multi-level security execution.

  • Execute SCI security functions across personnel, information, physical, TEMPEST, and TSCM domains.

  • Deliver mandatory security awareness training as required.

  • Oversee SCI Personnel Security Program-from nomination interviews to NDA/NdS collection and briefing responsibilities.

  • Authenticate SCI visitor clearances and maintain JPAS records with precision.

  • Guide SCI eligibility processing and manage Security Information Files with commanders and directors.

  • Safeguard SCIFs through physical security compliance, preparing and updating ICD 705-aligned accreditation documentation and fixed facility checklists.

  • Ensure thorough annual self-inspections of all SCIFs under your cognizance.

What You Bring:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance on Day 1

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or Associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (may substitute experience in lieu of a degree).

  • Demonstrated experience in SCI security domains-personnel, physical, info security, and basic info assurance.

  • Capability to operate autonomously in high-stakes environments, with mastery over security strategy, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Knowledge of ICD 704, ICD 705, DoDM 5105.21 (Vol. 1-3), and relevant DNI, DIA, and USAF security directives.

  • Analytical thinking and decisive problem-solving abilities.

This isn't just another job-this is your opportunity to contribute directly to national security operations and help shape the integrity of our most sensitive intelligence environments. Are you mission-ready?
