What to Expect
Join the mission to launch Cybercab, Tesla's revolutionary fully autonomous Robotaxi, on the most advanced automotive manufacturing lines in the world. As a Cybercab Process Engineer, you won't just support the lines... you will own them. You become a key individual partnering with cross-functional teams, to execute, and relentlessly optimize processes during the high-stakes ramping phase.
You'll drive Tesla's novel Unboxed manufacturing method, the groundbreaking approach that breaks the vehicle into major modules built in parallel on open, highly accessible stations before final joining. This isn't traditional automotive assembly. This is a radical, high-speed, modular manufacturing revolution, redesigned to shrink footprints, and unlocks blistering production rates.
These lines are loaded with cutting-edge automation and robotics. You'll lead the deployment of advanced equipment process, focussing on quality/efficiency/safety targets, and execute an aggressive production ramp that few in the industry will ever experience. You'll turn the most ambitious vehicle Tesla has ever built into reality at scale.
This is an opportunity to own world-class lines, master Unboxed manufacturing, and help write the next chapter of the automotive history.
What You'll Do
- Own one or multiple Manufacturing lines end-to-end: define, launch, and continuously optimize processes on the most advanced automotive lines ever built, with a heavy focus on automation and the novel Unboxed manufacturing method
- Lead process optimisation for modular, parallel Unboxed flows. Maximizing efficiency, safety, quality, and speed
- Own process documentation excellence: FMEAs, control plans, manufacturing instructions, and more
- Conduct cycle time analysis, line metrics, and OEE improvements while enabling an aggressive production ramp
- Design high-performance process flows, material flows, ergonomic layouts, and line configurations that let humans and advanced automation perform at peak
- Lead milestone approvals with precision, safety forms, technical specs, and flawless documentation
- Dive deep into data to lock in build quality and process capability during the rapid ramp-up
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with suppliers through concept, design, and commissioning to define equipment functionality, sequence of operations, and acceptance criteria for Unboxed and automated systems
- Ensure full compliance with Tesla Standards (TS)
- Deploy structured problem-solving (DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why)
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience launching and scaling manufacturing processes in high-volume environments
- Strong understanding of process flow, line balancing, takt time, and automation-heavy lines
- Data analysis proficiency (Such as: AI tools, Python, R, Tableau, Minitab) + SPC is a strong plus
- Solid knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and MES
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, suppliers, and production
- Fire for innovation, continuous improvement, and world-class manufacturing excellence
- Project management strength with a track record of hitting aggressive timelines and milestones
- Sharp problem-solving skills using DMAIC, Ishikawa, 5-Why, or 8D, plus the ability to learn complex
