Departmental Overview

The Dado and Maria Banatao Center for Global Learning and Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) was founded in 2005 under the vision of Dean Richard A. Newton and College of Engineering long-time friend and benefactors, Dado and Maria Banatao. GLOBE has helped College of Engineering departments, centers, and units engage with international partners. GLOBE also supports UC Berkeley students through a suite of Global Engineering programs, including the ENGIN 187 course, "Global Engineering: The Challenges of Globalization and Technology Disruption," the GLOBE Ambassadors study-travel program, the GLOBE Discovery Scholarship that provides financial support for international internships, and the identification and facilitation of internship opportunities abroad. In addition, GLOBE is developing new initiatives in STEM summer programs for both high school and undergraduate students.

This role supports the GLOBE visiting student programs by managing course data, enrollment logistics, and student placement, ensuring access to high-demand courses. It involves collecting and analyzing program-related data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
