Job Description

RRD is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to join our Houston, TX facility!

We are looking for a results-driven leader who will drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and cross-functional performance across the site. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the plant to improved safety, quality, productivity and reduction of waste on a consistent and continual basis in each and every process.
  • P&L responsibility for assigned locations, including the preparation and management of capital and operational budgets.
  • Work to improve the performance of employees through consistent and continual leadership in education and training programs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to department managers regarding the continual improvement of operations for which they have ownership.
  • Work with company Sales Representatives from an operational perspective to maintain and acquire new customers for the organization.
  • Review and report on manufacturing activities, performances and results. Initiate team action to identify and remove problems with schedules, excessive costs, materials or other factors affecting quality, safety, service or productivity levels inconsistent with plant continual improvement efforts.
  • Maintain open communication with plant employees and Corporate Staff to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Insure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEO, and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide reports and feedback of plant performance to Corporate Staff as required.
  • Make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, training and merit increases of Plant Personnel.
  • Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continual process improvement efforts in order to assure that all customer expectations (internal and external) are exceeded.
  • Perform other related duties and business related as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field required
  • Minimum of 10+ years diversified management experience within a manufacturing environment. Packaging or Supply Chain industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP system.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required; Master Black Belt strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record overseeing production, labor, quality, facilities, and operational performance.
  • Strong command of manufacturing KPIs, cost controls, and operational metrics.
  • Experience leading continuous and processimprovement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in FDA, ISO, compliance and quality systems.
  • Ability to operate at both enterprise and site levels: strategic roadmap + hands-on coaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical ability and reporting skills.

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $156,700 to $250,700 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future.At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
