Job Description: Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Aviation Safety Team based in Grand Prairie, TX. In this role you will provide support to the Safety Department in a wide range of activities including but not limited to Safety Promotions/Training, SMS implementation, Emergency Response and Accident Investigation database file management. Meet the Team: The Aviation Safety team proactively manages risk to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory compliance within the aviation industry. We achieve this by developing safety policies, conducting audits, training personnel, investigating incidents to determine root causes, and promoting a positive safety culture through education and outreach. Your Challenges: Primary Responsibilities: SMS Implementation: 50%
Assists the SMS Manager with ad hoc analysis and reporting; Provide assistance and feedback to the Head of Aviation Safety - North America on tracking, auditing, and performance of the SMS implementation; Assist the SMS Manager with development of SMS Policy and Procedures. Assist the Head of Aviation Safety - North America and SMS Manager in the tracking and analysis of Top Company Objectives (TCO) and key internal performance parameters.
Safety Promotions/Training: 20%
Provides support for the Safety Department, assists with day-to-day activities of Safety Training which includes training development, presenting and tracking of safety training; Assists the Aviation Safety Officers (ASO) with development and maintenance of Safety bulletin boards across all AHNA facilities.
Emergency Response: 20%
Accident Database File Management: 10%
With support of the Sr. Manager Accident Investigation, develop methodology to provide periodic backup of AI records, to ensure record integrity; With support of the Sr. Manager Accident Investigation, develop an AI file structure for all existing investigations, currently accessed through SharePoint, using Smartsheet (or other solution provided by MIS).

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Solid Understanding of Smartsheet and SharePoint, or equivalent.

Onsite: 100% of time that this position must be worked onsite at the company's location. Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, and reports. Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Carrying: able to carry documents up to 15lbs. Lifting: able to lift documents and electronic equipment up to 15lbs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small boxes and some office equipment. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice 10%. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
