You'll be the strategic and operational heartbeat of the A. James Clark Scholars Program (CSP) in the Pratt School of Engineering, guiding a highimpact, studentfacing portfolio that blends mentoring, academic excellence, leadership, service, and personal development. In this role, you will coordinate with the Director to lead the program endtoend-from admissions and Summer Bridge through cohort seminars, service learning, global experiences, alumni engagement, and budget management-to ensure Duke's Clark Scholars thrive.

Daytoday, you'll mentor individual scholars, coordinate peer support, design and deliver engaging programming, and partner closely with faculty and campus collaborators. You'll also serve as the face of the program across Duke and within the Clark Scholars Program Network (CSPN), building relationships with alumni, donors, and sponsors. You will report to the Director of the Christensen Family Center for Innovation and work closely with the Clark Scholars Program faculty team.

Minimum Requirements

• Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or a related field (or equivalent general business background).
• Experience: 3+ years of related training and/or administrative experience, including familiarity with adult learning principles and the design/delivery of educational modules.
• OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred (e.g., Higher Education Administration, Education, Psychology, Engineering, or related). Background in student affairs, engineering education, or scholarship program administration strongly preferred.
• Experience in product management, software development, engineering, or computer science.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse student populations, including firstgeneration students.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment best practices.
• Experience with budget development, fiscal oversight, and financial management.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams, with flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for programs and special events.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization, planning, and timemanagement with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack (or similar collaboration tools); familiarity with LinkedIn and other social platforms.

Other Requirements

• Occasional evening/weekend commitments aligned to student programs, events, and sponsor/alumni engagements.
• Periodic travel to CSPN summits, conferences, and select external engagements.

Position Description (Key Responsibilities)

Strategic Leadership & Program Administration (25%)

• Lead comprehensive operations and administration for all CSP components, ensuring alignment with Duke Engineering's mission and the CSPN framework.
• Direct the annual admissions and selection process; chair the review committee; oversee onboarding and orientation for each cohort, including curriculum design and delivery for Summer Bridge.
• Develop program goals, strategic priorities, and assessment plans; track outcomes and iterate based on evidence.
• Supervise professional staff and student leaders, providing coaching, feedback, and performance oversight to ensure effective delivery and team development.
• Serve as the primary liaison with CF2i, CSPN, and the CSPN Advisory Council.

Student Development & Mentoring (25%)

• Provide individualized mentorship and advising across academic, professional, and personal dimensions.
• Coordinate peer mentoring, tutoring, and connections to wellbeing and mental health resources.
• Cultivate belonging, leadership identity, and community among FLI students.
• Proactively triage and resolve student concerns, engaging campus partners and referral pathways as needed.

Curriculum, Programming & Experiential Learning (20%)

• Design and facilitate weekly cohort seminars (Thrive) and other curricular programming in collaboration with the Pratt faculty team.
• Oversee the servicelearning course sequence and the Philanthropy Challenge Fund initiative, including partnerships, logistics, and assessment.
• Build and maintain partnerships for the Global Summer Experience and additional experiential/community engagement offerings.
• Supervise studentled events and committees (e.g., Clark Senior Fellows, leadership councils).

External Relations & Network Engagement (15%)

• Represent Duke's program across the CSPN, attending summits, conferences, and collaborative events; be an active contributor to the Program Leaders community of practice.
• Cultivate relationships with alumni, foundation partners, donors, campus collaborators, and external stakeholders.
• Manage program communications (newsletters, digital platforms, social media).
• Plan and coordinate major events (e.g., graduation celebrations, sponsor visits).

Fiscal & Data Management (10%)

• Oversee financial operations (budget planning, reconciliations, scholarship awards, stipends, reimbursements).
• Maintain complete records for current scholars and alumni; manage data tracking and assessment metrics.
• Produce timely biannual reports for CSPN and internal stakeholders.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement (5%)

• Partner with faculty, staff, and university offices (e.g., Financial Aid, Student Affairs, Career Development) to enhance program quality and student impact.
• Benchmark practices across peer CSPN institutions to ensure innovation, inclusion, and excellence.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,535.00 to USD $95,880.00.
