Job Summary

We are hiring a NOC Technician to monitor, troubleshoot, and support the health and performance of critical network and infrastructure systems within a live colocation data center environment. This role requires hands-on experience with data center operations, strong knowledge of fiber and copper cabling, and the ability to respond professionally to system alerts and escalations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and committed to accurate documentation and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities




  • Monitor network and infrastructure systems using network management systems (NMS) and dashboards



  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and escalate network alerts, outages, and performance issues as required



  • Perform fiber and copper patching to support live data center environments



  • Run, dress, label, and maintain cable infrastructure, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber



  • Support rack and stack activities for customer and network equipment



  • Assist with troubleshooting connectivity issues across Layers 1 through 3



  • Conduct basic hardware diagnostics and replace failed components when necessary



  • Document incidents, resolutions, and shift activities in internal tracking systems



  • Perform scheduled system health checks, reboots, and patch panel audits



  • Support infrastructure installations, including ladder racks and fiber trays



  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including PPE usage, jobsite cleanliness, and OSHA guidelines



  • Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and other support teams




Job Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data center or NOC environment



  • Hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, testing, and troubleshooting



  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG (preferred)



  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision



  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred)



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders or lifts, and remain on feet for extended periods



  • Required to provide basic hand tools, including a multi-bit screwdriver, snips, pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, gloves, tool pouch, and steel or composite toe boots
