$22.11 TO $24.32 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Viera/South Central Wastewater Facility. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Performs skilled technical work conducting specialized laboratory tests and procedures required for the operation of wastewater and/or water treatment plants. Work is carried out with considerable technical independence. Oversight and training is given to assigned Utility Services staff.



REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or its equivalent or graduation from a vocational school PLUS four (4) years of laboratory experience, which includes two (2) years of performing analytical tests; OR two (2) years of experience as a Brevard County Laboratory Technician I. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. College-level coursework in algebra, chemistry, microbiology, or clinical laboratory studies is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include respiratory protection. Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
