Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Login & Identity Development Manager!

About the role

As the Login & Identity Development Manager, you'll lead the engineering delivery of our enterprise Login & Identity platform. You'll manage two development teams and partner closely with the Product Manager for Login & Identity to deliver secure, scalable authentication and identity solutions that support Symetra's customers, partners, and employees.

What you will do



  • Lead, coach, and developtwo Login & Identity engineering teams
  • Drive delivery of authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, and identity lifecycle capabilities
  • Partner with theProduct Manager for Login & Identityto translate roadmap and business outcomes into executable delivery plans
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, balancing feature delivery, platform stability, security, and technical debt
  • Ensure solutions meet Symetra's security, privacy, resiliency, and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with Security, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Business partners across Symetra
  • Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,700 - $214,600 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:



  • High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including3+ years leading people and teams.
  • You have a proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage concurrent initiatives in a fastmoving environment.
  • You hold deep expertise in identity and access management, including OAuth/OIDC, SAML, SSO, and MFA.
  • You're experienced in delivering secure, highly available platforms across cloud or hybrid environments.
  • You've worked in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries, bringing an understanding of the standards required.
  • You're familiar with enterprise IAM platforms and how they support scalable identity ecosystems.
  • You naturally collaborate with Product, Business, and crossfunctional partners, building strong relationships that drive outcomes.
  • Some minimal annual travel required (for people manager roles only)


Travel:



  • Required Training & Professional Development
    All newly hired people leaders with direct reports are required to complete a comprehensive leadership development program within their first year. This program includes both virtual and in-person training. The in-person sessions will take place at Symetra's corporate headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. Symetra covers all travel and accommodation expenses.
