Accounts Payable Specialist - Fiber Infrastructure (ContracttoHire) Location: Columbus, OH Pay: $25-$30/hour Employment Type: ContracttoHire About the Opportunity * Our client is a rapidly growing fiber infrastructure company building new fiber routes into major data centers throughout the Columbus market. * The company is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who must have construction industry experience. This is not optional-candidates must have worked directly in AP for construction or constructionrelated operations. * The role manages all vendor billing, AP workflows, and onboarding tied to fiber deployment projects across the Columbus area. Responsibilities * Process all vendor and subcontractor invoices tied to fiber construction projects. * Review invoice accuracy for labor, materials, subcontractor work, and change orders. * Work closely with construction managers and field teams to reconcile job costs and confirm work completed in the field. * Manage endtoend vendor onboarding, including collecting W9s, COIs, banking information, and compliance documentation. * Maintain organized and uptodate vendor files for all active projects. * Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or request missing information. * Assist with monthend close, cost tracking, and reporting for fiber deployment into data centers. Required Qualifications * Must have direct construction industry experience supporting Accounts Payable. Candidates without construction AP experience will not be considered. * Experience processing highvolume construction invoices and working with jobcosting or projectbased billing. * Ability to collaborate closely with field operations, project managers, and procurement teams. * Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. * Proficiency with Excel and comfort navigating ERP or accounting systems. * Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fastpaced, constructiondriven environment. Preferred Qualifications * Accounts Payable experience in telecom, fiberoptic construction, or utility infrastructure is a major plus. * Familiarity with underground fiber builds, aerial construction, or lowvoltage/telecom contractor billing. * Knowledge of lien releases, COIs, threeway matching, and construction compliance workflows. * Experience with NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or constructionfocused ERP tools. Work Environment * Supports construction operations across the Columbus market, including datacenter builds. * Fastpaced, projectdriven environment with frequent communication across construction, engineering, and field teams. * Contracttohire role with onsite or hybrid expectations depending on client needs. * Candidates must be located in or near the Columbus area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
