JOB TITLE: Coordinator, Operations Business Support


Location: North Fort Myers, FL


Work Hours: Monday- Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm plus some irregular days/hours when needed

Position Summary: This position provides support, coordination of activities and tasks for one or more functional areas in the Operations Business Support department. Supports department personnel as needed in providing oversight and direction to both LCEC and contractor personnel. Respond reliably and timely to calls during regular business hours and non-regular business hours.

Position Responsibilities



  • Maintain a safe, productive work environment for the employees satisfying LCEC quality standards and policy.
  • Assist manager/supervisor to maintain departmental processes and metrics. Develop and maintain reports and metrics to ensure department efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of the Capital Budget, forecasts and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain ten-year work plan with engineers/SMEs
  • Coordinate Projects (Transmission, Substation, Distribution, Distributed Generation, etc.)
  • Coordinate project development with engineers/SMEs.

    • Create business cases for proposed projects:
    • Track business case approval processes.
    • Establish project scope and requirements.
    • Provide project cost estimates for budget.


  • Coordinate project schedules:

    • Track material orders and deliveries.
    • Identify critical path, milestones for capital projects
    • Identify resources needed for capital project execution
    • Track project progress and cost.


  • Coordinate project closure:

    • Verify as-built drawings and documentation are completed.
    • Ensure project assets are identified for the accounting as-built process.
    • Verify that project work order(s) are closed.


  • Assist other Division and Department personnel as needed.
  • Serve as the OBS & Engineering subject matter expert for NISC work order creation.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with contractors and LCEC employees, customers and other stakeholders. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during interpersonal communications. Provide current and accurate information to all requests, courteously and in a timely manner.
  • Support Storm Restoration efforts when needed. Work in emergency storm situations (i.e. hurricanes) and work long hours (>12 hours per day) for many continuous days/weeks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education



  • High School (Required) and
  • 15 years' engineering or coordinator experience in the power industry (Required) or
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering (prefer electrical or power) (Required) and
  • 10 years' engineering or coordinator experience in the power industry (Required) or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (prefer electrical or power) (Required) and
  • 5 years' engineering experience in the power industry (Required) or
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering. (Preferred)


Experience



  • Project/work group coordination and/or supervision experience. (Preferred)
  • Project coordination and/or supervision courses or certifications. (Preferred)
  • Collaborative labor relation direct experience. (Preferred)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Demonstrated understanding of utility construction processes & standards. (Required)
  • Ability to successfully resolve customer or contractor issues and construction problems. (Required)
  • Proficient in use of project management software MS Project, or equivalent. (Required)
  • Proficient use of PC, MS 365 Office suite, Engineering Applications, Work Management System, and Design/Mapping software (NISC software suite preferred). (Required)
  • Project/Work Group Coordination and/or Supervision. (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications



  • Valid and in State Florida Drivers' License Upon Hire (Required)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Registration (Preferred)

STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS.... Responding to storms may be considered a condition of employment: LCEC provides critical services to our community during an emergency. Employees may be required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our LCEC members. Employees are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's guidelines and procedures.
