Summary

We are looking for a junioryear (or higher) Software Engineering/Computer Science student eager to learn and contribute to a variety of softwarerelated tasks across our Computer Tools, Computer Systems, and Infrastructure teams. You will support senior engineers in design, testing, documentation, and implementation, and help develop or operate DevSecOps pipelines and virtualized environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks including writing and testing software, creating software tools, updating drawings and documentation, installing and integrating software packages.

  • Assist in the installation and configuration of physical and virtualized environments

  • Assist configuration of network components, such as network switches, time servers, and computers.

  • Gather data and prepare reports, as necessary.

  • Provide administrative and technical support to Engineering department.

  • Assist other departments, when needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program majoring in an Engineering discipline, preferably Software Engineeringor Computer Science and in your junior year or higher

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Must be familiar with C++ and/or C# programming languages

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and virtualization technologies is a plus

  • Familiarity with computer components and the ability to install/remove/connect components is a plus

  • Knowledge of network concepts, such as switching, routing, IP addresses, VLANs, etc., is a plus

  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux configuration a plus

  • Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications

  • Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Must be customer service-oriented

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Python programming languages a plus

  • Experience with personal projects such as building computers, setting up a network, etc. a plus

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

  • Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.

  • The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • May be required to be in a sitting position for long lengths of time.

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator

  • Must be able to support rack mounted equipment (Up to 7 feet off the group)

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely used standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
