Summary Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, using appropriate identification and appropriate technique. Accurately label all collected samples immediately, handle them according to specific test requirements, and prepare for transport or in-house laboratory testing. Maintains a clean, organized and sanitary work area. Adheres to state, CAP and ACHC standards.Job Description: Job Title: Phlebotomist Full Time 2nd Shift The Hospital Laboratory is a specialized department responsible for performing diagnostic testing on patient specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids. It plays a critical role in patient care by providing accurate and timely test results that aid in disease diagnosis, treatment planning, and overall health monitoring. Job Description: Collects blood specimens (both venous and capillary) from adult and pediatric patients. Delivers clinical specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner to ensure efficient, accurate laboratory testing and patient care. Prompt specimen registration, and the courteous interaction with house staff, other departments and services are also duties of this position. Work as necessary to meet staffing needs and fulfill the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.
