About The Position |

People Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to play a critical role in the company's transition to a cloud-first, automation-driven network architecture. This role is responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable, and highly available network services while reducing reliance on on-premises infrastructure.

The Senior Network Engineer will help transform offices into internet-edge locations, leveraging cloud security platforms, SD-WAN, Zero Trust principles, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role requires a hands-on technical leader who is comfortable driving architectural change and modern engineering practices.

Hybrid 3x a week- DSM

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team

The Network Engineering team is responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable network connectivity across People Inc.'s offices, data centers, and cloud environments. The team partners closely with Security, Cloud Platform, and Application teams to support business growth while modernizing the network through automation, cloud adoption, and operational excellence.

About The Positions Contributions:

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

70% Lead the design, implementation and operation of enterprise network-architecture including WAN, SD-WAN, firewall platforms, cloud connectivity, and wireless. Drive cloud-first and SaaS-first initiatives. reduceon-prem dependencies, automate network infrastructure using IaC, and improve resiliency, scalability, and security

30% Provide senior-level operational support, mentoring, documentation, and governance. Troubleshoot complex network issues, maintain standards and best practices, partner with security and platform teams, and support disaster recovery and resiliency testing

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in a medium to large enterprise networking environment

  • Proven experience leading or strongly influencing network modernization and cloud migration initiatives

  • Experience operating in hybrid and cloud-based network environments

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

Firewall & Security

  • Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama (strongly preferred)

Cloud & Modern Networking

  • AWS networking (VPCs, routing, connectivity, security) - required

  • Familiarity with GCP or Azure - a plus

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

  • Python and Ansible for network automation

  • Terraform for Infrastructure as Code

  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)

Networking Platforms & Devices

  • Experience with Cisco networking platforms, including:

  • Cisco IOS / IOS-XE / NX-OS

  • Experience with Cisco Meraki (wireless, switching, SD-WAN, security)

  • Strong understanding of enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN design principles

Observability & Network Monitoring

  • Experience with modern observability and monitoring platforms, including the Grafana stack

  • Familiarity with Prometheus for metrics collection and alerting

  • Familiarity with Loki for centralized log aggregation

  • Ability to use telemetry and monitoring data to improve reliability and performance

% Travel Required (Approximate):

  • 5-10%, primarily for team meetings or critical on-site initiatives
