Summary:

Under the general direction of the Internal Audit Manager, the Lead IT Internal Auditor is responsible for leading and supervising IT audits and projects that support financial, IT, and operational objectives. The position serves as a subject matter expert, guiding staff auditors and ensuring highquality audit execution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT auditors across planning, execution, and reporting phases.

  • Assemble highquality audit reports for senior management.

  • Monitor remediation plans and follow-up actions to validate risk mitigation.

  • Manage team workload, milestones, and schedules.

  • Escalate resource challenges to audit management.

  • Coach and provide constructive feedback to staff auditors.

  • Support annual audit planning and related analytics tasks.

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

  • Assist Audit Manager with project economics (schedule, budget, milestones).

  • Perform tasks for departmental initiatives in line with milestones.

  • Focus on scaling skills and coverage through data analytics and GenAI.

  • Maintain current knowledge of IT, cybersecurity, Cencora operations, and the pharma industry.

  • Contribute to and lead a core pillar within the team. (Project management, Applications, Operational Technology, Cyber Security or Data Analytics)

Education & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.

  • Preferred certifications: CISA, CISSP, CIPP, PMP, CFE, or Master's in Information Security / Cyber.

  • 7 or more years of IT audit experience, progressive responsibility.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Deep knowledge of:

    • Information Security & Cybersecurity

    • Windows O365

    • Databases (Oracle, SQL)

    • Cloud services & thirdparty hosted services

    • Patch management, SDLC, project management

    • Firewalls, business continuity, IT operations

    • ERP systems (SAP a plus)

Travel Requirement:

  • 15-25% expected.
