Job Description
Primary Purpose
Executes a wide range of routine operating tasks, applying established methods to keep equipment available and data accurate. Resolves common issues by selecting from known options and preparing thorough tickets for escalation when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Starts, stops, and operates compressor units and auxiliary systems; adjusts within prescribed limits to maintain flow and pressure.
- Performs routine checks on engines, compressors, separators, coolers, and dehydration equipment; documents results.
- Replaces basic components (filters, gaskets) and replenishes fluids following standard procedures.
- Uses supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to verify operating status and enter notes as directed.
- Collects gas samples or moisture readings when required and routes them or logs per procedure.
- Responds to routine alarms by executing predefined steps and communicating conditions to senior personnel.
- Assists with planned maintenance windows (equipment preparations, isolation support, poststart checks).
- Maintains tidy tool and parts areas; updates inventory counts for consumables used during routine tasks.
Participates in the safe installation of instrumentation and electrical components, and troubleshoots issues with control systems, complex equipment, reciprocating compressors, gas storage equipment, generators, and gas chromatography systems.
Maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize the use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs, and also maintains advanced monitoring devices.
Performs preventive and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and associated components and plans upcoming projects and tasks.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Compressor Station Operations - Manage and maintain compressor stations to enhance the reliability and efficiency of gas transmission. Key activities include monitoring performance, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Corrosion Control - Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
- Inspection Management - A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
- Maintenance Management - Management of activities such as repair work, servicing, replacing, inspecting and testing.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management - The systematic approach to maintain health and safety at occupation and protect the environment.
- Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
- Emergency Response Management - The coordination and management of resources and responsibilities pertaining to the mitigation of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from an emergency.
- Project/Program Management - The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
- Documentation & Records Management - Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.
- Root Cause Analysis - The process of discovering the root causes of problems in order to identify appropriate solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to read P&ID and electrical diagrams, as well as other complex electrical drawings; interprets plant electrical diagrams and updates electrical drawings.
- Able to run conduit, pull wire, replace motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
- Possesses substantial knowledge of mechanical principles and demonstrates strong troubleshootingskills.

$68,000.00 - $107,000.00 / year
