Job Description

Safety and Quality:

  • Promote and uphold all Amcor Safety Policies, Safety Rules, and EHS expectations.
  • Reinforce Amcor Quality Policies, Quality Absolutes, and core food-safety systems including ISO, SQF, and HACCP.
  • Ensure safety remains the organization's top value.

Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise quality assurance technicians and any personnel assigned during the shift.
  • Assign labor, manage shift schedules, and set daily priorities.
  • Maintain a positive, effective work environment within the quality labs.
  • Ensure performance expectations are met and or exceeded.
  • Assist in the new set-up and ongoing review of item specifications.
  • Oversee/perform duties as quality project leader on special projects as required.
  • Oversee mold qualifications and CQV's.
  • Designate an acting lead in the lead's absence.

Quality Operations:

  • Perform duties as a quality technician as needed.
  • Lead QA turnover meetings and participate in plant turnover meetings daily.
  • Maintain and verify accuracy of QA records, documentation, and filing systems.
  • Control and manage non-conforming product processes.
  • Verify gram weight and shot data for accuracy.
  • Assist in the setup and review of item specifications.
  • Lead or support quality-related special projects.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting within the quality labs spreadsheets, databases and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Participate in turnover meetings between shifts and plant-wide turnover.
  • Work closely with other departments to support production and quality goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or equivalent. A minimum of two years quality assurance/control experience or demonstrated ability. Self-motivated. Good communication skills. Good leadership ability. Knowledge of ISO, SPC and team building. Continue educational classes (front-line leadership, computer courses, etc.) Proficient in Excel Word and other programs. Able to read prints. Able to manage multiple tasks. Good Color Perception.
