Title: Information Technology - Vendor Relationship Management Intern Location: Raceland, LA Position Overview: The IT department is seeking a Finance Intern to assist with developing a financial framework for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing IT spend. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to vendor management, contract analysis, and technology budgeting while working closely with the IT Vendor Relationship Manager and Contracts & Licensing Specialist. Role Focus: The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, an interest in technology procurement, and a desire to bridge finance and IT operations. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in building a comprehensive IT spend framework that aligns with departmental and organizational financial goals. * Collect, analyze, and categorize IT expenses across software, hardware, cloud services, and professional services. * Partner with the Contracts & Licensing Specialist to review agreements for cost, renewal terms, and spend commitments. * Help develop reporting templates and dashboards for spend visibility, forecasting, and variance analysis. * Support vendor performance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities. * Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance transparency and accountability in IT procurement. * Prepare documentation and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. Skills Developed: * Understand the fundamentals of IT financial management and vendor governance. * Gain hands-on experience with budget analysis and spend optimization. * Learn how to connect financial data to operational IT decisions. * Build real-world skills in contract review, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required. * Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Skills & Abilities: * Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, charts). * Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus. * Interest in IT, software licensing, or vendor management. * Good organization and time management skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment. * Basic typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Strong problem-solving skills * Good communication and interpersonal skills
