Job Summary

Supply Chain manages all aspect of procurement for the entire corporation. We provide the opportunity to be a part of a diverse team that purchases a wide range of products and services including IT, specialized equipment, facilities services and engineering, design, research and development, consultant's services, and construction. As the purchasing agent you will provide your experience and understanding of Sourcing and Procurement of direct (under US Government Prime Contract) goods and services.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our facility with available locations in El Segundo, CA, Houston, TX or Chantilly VA.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Administer sourcing and procurement of direct (under US Government Prime Contract) goods and services for The Aerospace Corporation
  • Evaluate and improve sourcing activities, analyzing current suppliers and cost
  • Complete formal market analysis to investigate market behaviors, trends and influences on the category requirement
  • Identify the best contract approach, pricing model, and category management governance
  • Lead RFI's, RFP's, RFQs, RFS's, supplier/source selection, negotiation and awarding best value
  • Implement procedures to continuously evaluate suppliers, costs and deliverability
  • Document the procurement package in accordance with FAR and company policies and procedures

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Subcontract Administration Staff II include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required
  • A minimum of (1-2) years of hands-on experience in direct procurement within a U.S. Government Prime Contract environment, demonstrating a thorough understanding of government procurement regulations and compliance requirements is required
  • Extensive experience managing subcontracting operations under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), ensuring full compliance with government standards
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee the entire procurement cycle, from strategic planning and sourcing to contract execution and lifecycle management
  • Proven track record in establishing and optimizing scalable Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) frameworks that drive efficiency and robust supplier engagement
  • Skilled in developing, managing, and executing procurement schedules with precision, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals
  • Strong proficiency in crafting pricing strategies and exhibits, conducting meticulous bid evaluations, and justifying pricing reasonableness to secure competitive contracts
  • Hands-on experience with various contract types, including Time & Materials, Cost Type, and Firm Fixed Price (FFP), within FAR guidelines, ensuring flexible and effective procurement solutions

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Proven experience with SAP, S4, and Ariba systems to streamline procurement processes and enhance operational efficiency is strongly preferred
  • Adept at clearly articulating and explaining procurement package documentation in accordance with FAR guidelines, ensuring compliance and transparency is desirable
  • In-depth experience within the aerospace sector, understanding industry-specific challenges and regulatory requirements
  • Skilled in managing and executing strategic agreements related to direct categories, including Long Term and Master Agreements, to support sustained business operations is preferred
  • Extensive background in procurement within research and development environments, adept at balancing innovative needs with regulatory mandates
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate fast-paced procurement and subcontracting scenarios, ensuring timely delivery and effective risk management
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is strongly preferred. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
