Overview

Aa a Technology Service Specialist, you will join the Corporate Bank Production team as a Production Support Engineer supporting mission-critical payments and Foreign Exchange platforms that power global cash management for corporate clients. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of high-value, low-value, bulk, instant, and cheque payment systems operating in a 24x7 follow-the-sun environment. You will proactively troubleshoot issues, automate manual processes, and improve monitoring to reduce incidents and accelerate resolution times. Your work will directly enhance client experience, strengthen platform resilience, and help build a modern engineering culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence across production.

What You'll Do

  • Own incident, problem, and change management for mission-critical applications, driving faster resolution, fewer incidents, and consistent achievement of Service Level Objectives/Service Level Agreements

  • Perform deep technical analysis to diagnose performance, resiliency, and availability issues, implementing preventative solutions to strengthen system reliability

  • Partner with Development, Infrastructure, and Production stakeholders globally to identify risk, resolve conflicts, and drive stable, scalable platform and process improvements

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by automating manual tasks, enhancing monitoring, improving platform hygiene, and reducing technical debt across the production environment

  • Deliver day-to-day production engineering support, including 24x7 monitoring, event management, business request prioritization, and participation in software development life cycle and release readiness activities

  • Strengthen operational excellence by establishing governance, knowledge management, vendor oversight, documentation standards, and coaching teams to build a sustainable engineering culture

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent required

  • Extensive experience supporting and stabilizing mission-critical production applications, applying Information Technology Infrastructure Library best practices to improve reliability, reduce incidents, and strengthen operational resilience

  • Strong technical foundation across complex enterprise environments including UNIX/Linux, databases, middleware, messaging, cloud platforms, and distributed/microservices architectures (Kubernetes, Kafka)

  • Proven automation and engineering mindset with experience in scripting and tooling (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Robotic process automation, batch/workload automation) to eliminate manual effort and technical debt

  • Proficient with monitoring, observability, and scheduling tools (Geneos, Splunk, Grafana, New Relic, Control-M) and incident management platforms (Remedy/ServiceNow/Heat) to ensure proactive issue detection and rapid resolution

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Familiarity with cloud and modern engineering environments, including Global Control Programme and DevOps/continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) practices, with exposure to automation frameworks (Ansible, Jenkins/Groovy, Python, Java)

  • Understanding of Payments domain fundamentals and financial messaging standards (e.g., Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), with an appreciation for mission-critical, high-availability systems

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to simplify complex problems and drive practical solutions

  • Effective communicator and relationship builder, comfortable influencing stakeholders and collaborating across global, cross-functional teams

  • Self-directed and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities, work independently, and deliver results in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
