Summary/ Objective: Provide the Sales Department, Customers, and Vendors with the necessary support for all aspects of plan/spec lighting solutions and design/build opportunities. This position focuses on the support of the sale's department's efforts in meeting company goals and obtaining the desired sales results.
Essential Functions:
Establish solid working relationships with individuals with vendors and customers.
Provide emergency service and delivery for customers as required.
Respond to incoming customer phone, fax, and email requests for
Quotation of Material
Technical support of products
Fixture and Lamp recommendations
Purchase material in Eclipse as required
Track and expedite material to meet customer timelines as needed
Maintain Eclipse sales data by continually cancelling Bids and providing price feedback
Participate in joint planning and sales calls with other SYD team members as well as manufacturer's representatives
Plan & Spec Project
Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator
Complete project qualification form
Formulate approximate project budget based on product documentation and contractor supplied quantities
Review drawings and notes (Hard Copy or on Dodge)
Review any applicable one-line drawings
Review Project Specifications
Identify appropriate certifications or requirements (Buy American, Minority participation, etc.)
Verify extra material requirements
Substitution Provisions
Decide level of material standards set by project documentation
Assemble material takeoff / B.O.M.
Develop Bid Strategy, Communicate with Vendors, Contractors and Outside sales.
Obtain project pricing from selected vendors
Transmit final Bid Documents to applicable contractors as well as SYD O/S personnel. (Eclipse and Excel??Design Build Project
Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator
Review project design requirements
Determine material / vendors needed to meet design requirements
Verify or establish foot candle level that meets or exceeds IES standards
Utilize AGI / CAD software to complete lighting design
Run calculation to confirm that design meets or exceeds PA State Energy Code requirements
Obtain project pricing from selected vendor
Transmit final Bid Documents to applicable contractors as well as SYD O/S personnel. (Eclipse and Excel)
Post Bid Responsibilities
Collect and communicate any feedback from Customers and Salespeople to Vendors, and adjust Bid accordingly
Relay bid result information to Construction Coordinators for reporting
Bid follow up discussions in coordination with outside sales
Solicit buy pricing from appropriate vendors to use in assisting with project negotiations to help secure order
Once order is awarded to SYD solicit and compile material price breakdowns
Compile or obtain, and deliver submittal documents based on project specific requirements
Receive and review signed, stamped and approved submittals documents
Convert existing Eclipse bid to Sales order and produce and send Purchase orders to vendors
Compile Project Management turnover documentation, and turn over to Construction Coordinator for project management
Competencies:
Understanding of basic electrical principals and systems
Knowledge of lighting and electrical distribution equipment products
Experience with related computer software such as Microsoft products, and adobe professional
CAD or CAD based design software knowledge is preferred but not required
Knowledge of construction trends
Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
Ability to negotiate effectively at a high level and build strong relationships with customers and vendors
Demonstrated sales and business acumen
Excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports.
Work Environment:
This job operates primarily in an office setting with the balance of the time split between visiting various job sites, customer sites, branches/warehouses, and attending meetings. This position requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, internet, smart phones, and photocopiers. This job goes out to job sites for visits or to answer questions in the field. There are Varying temperatures, rocky terrain and you must wear the proper PPE for the job site you are visiting.

Travel:
Some overnight travel is required, and the employee can reasonably expect on average 10-15% overnight travel to meet the demands of the position. Should travel be required a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position.
Clearances and Certifications:
Background check is required
Various clearances will be required on occasion.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Electrical/Construction industry
Electrical and Lighting industry experience preferred
Schooling, past experience preferred
