OUR OPENING

Journey Group is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead construction operations across office and field teams.

Reporting to the President, this executive role is responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, consistency, and profitability across all projects. You will partner closely with Preconstruction, Business Development, and leadership teams to ensure strong alignment from planning through execution while building scalable systems and a strong learning culture.


WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A VP OF OPERATIONS?

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals and long-term growth
  • Lead and support project managers, superintendents, and operational teams
  • Oversee projects from mobilization through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance
  • Drive standardization of processes, systems, and tools to improve consistency and scalability
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Utilize data and dashboards to guide proactive decision-making
  • Partner with Preconstruction and Procurement to manage risk and resources
  • Build a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Lead process improvement and technology initiatives
  • Champion safety across all operational planning and execution
  • Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Represent Journey Group with professionalism and integrity


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION NEEDED

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction operations leadership experience
  • Proven experience leading large-scale projects and implementing systems
  • Demonstrated success managing organizational change and growth
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Deep understanding of construction operations, safety, scheduling, and cost management

  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence across teams
  • High level of integrity and accountability
