The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $163,000-$220,000 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

Summary:

Red Wing Shoes is seeking a Managing Director for Global Heritage to join in leading our Global Heritage Sales team. This role will directly supervise the Director of Sales, NA Heritage, Managing Director, Europe, and Managing Director, Heritage Asia.This role is responsible for developing and executing global go-to-market, sales, and business development strategies across DTC and Wholesale channels. This role ensures alignment across North America, Europe, and Asia to deliver revenue, profitability, and brand growth objectives in the premium lifestyle footwear category. The leader collaborates cross-functionally with Product Creation, Marketing, Demand Planning, Finance, Revenue Operations, Retail, and Wholesale teams to drive global commercial performance and market expansion.

Essential Duties include:

  • Leads the development and execution of the global Heritage commercial strategy across all regions and channels, ensuring alignment with crossfunctional partners and regional sales leaders to drive sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Partners with Global Revenue Operations, regional leadership, and DTC/Wholesale counterparts to ensure channel alignment, maximize international growth opportunities, and strengthen global market penetration.
  • Builds and nurtures highimpact global customer and distributor relationships by developing annual and longrange strategic account plans that drive revenue growth and elevate the Heritage brand across international markets.
  • Collaborates with Product Creation, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Revenue Operations to define global assortment strategies, support marketspecific product segmentation, and ensure successful execution of worldwide gotomarket plans.
  • Leverages regional insights, distributor intel, and market analytics to inform global SIOP forecasting and annual planning, ensuring the right product is available in the right regions at the right time.
  • Champions the needs and longterm objectives of international distributors, regional sales teams, and key accounts by aligning crossfunctional stakeholders around major opportunities and implementing continuous improvement to strengthen commercial execution.
  • Drives global adoption of tools, processes, selling programs, and training to enable consistent execution across regions; ensures teams manage pipelines effectively and deliver defined annual revenue and profitability goals.
  • Achieves global financial objectives by overseeing forecasting, budgeting, expenditure management, and variance analysis.
  • Leads global sales teams by setting clear expectations, ensuring role clarity, coaching and developing leaders, managing performance, and overseeing recruitment and onboarding of key regional commercial talent.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university and minimum of seven years related leadership experience in sales, sales management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams across global organizations, with the ability to honor brand legacy while driving modern, scalable growth.
  • Demonstrated success in effectively leading sales teams in a highly networked wholesale organization.
  • Experience creating and implementing successful sales initiatives in both retail and wholesale channels.
  • Experience in selling premium footwear/workwear is a plus and preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidates must have a track record of success in developing and executing sales strategies, building and managing networks, and driving revenue growth in the premium footwear segment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate and mentor both sales management and external teams in the premium footwear segment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining positive relationships with their team, properly communicate expectations, provide feedback, and collaborating with departments and other executives from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze a business' current performance and policies and identify areas of opportunity for improvement and prioritize opportunities for growth in the premium footwear segment.
  • Passion for premium footwear manufacturing and understanding of its market and its customers.

Work Environment:

This position follows a Hyflex work model, providing the flexibility of remote work alongside intentional inoffice collaboration for "Moments that Matter" and key business needs. Candidate must be located in Red Wing, MN or within a commutable distance.
