Job Title: Internal Services Professional 1

Location(s): Columbia, SC

Position Summary
The Sustainability Unit (SU) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented candidate to support daily inbound operations. This role is dual-focused, combining mailroom processing and utility invoice data processing. The position requires routine, process-driven work with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Mailroom Operations

  • Perform mail pickup and delivery.
  • Sort and distribute mail by mailing address.
  • Scan documents and upload accurately.
  • Resolve mail-related exceptions and associated tasks.

Document & Invoice Processing

  • Validate data captured through automation for accuracy.
  • Manually capture utility invoice data using established processes.
  • Enter summary and/or detailed charge and usage line items.
  • Apply Utility Bill Knowledge (UBK) training to invoice review and data entry.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in process reviews and suggest efficiency improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Training Requirement
  • Successful completion of Utility Bill Knowledge (UBK) training.
    • 2-day foundation-level course covering utility terminology, invoice formats, and billing structures.
    • On-the-job training follows completion of UBK.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • 10-key by touch proficiency: 8,000 keystrokes/hour with <3% error rate.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to learn from mistakes.
  • Effective research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
