The Network Engineer-III is responsible for the planning, design, configuration, integration & installation of our growing local area network (LAN) and/or global wide area network (WAN). The Network Engineer-III will provide leadership in technical support and documentation to various departments and users with regard to the global infrastructure. The Network Engineer-III serves as a liaison to gather network requirements from internal customers, vendors, and other third-party providers.

Responsibilities
- This role will have a strong focus on F5 technologies, including BIG-IP LTM, traffic management, and application delivery optimization across the enterprise network.
- DESIGN:
- Perform design requirements feasibility studies
- Perform vendor recommendation/selection and coordination for hardware testing and installations
- Examine theoretical and implemented designs for deficiencies and facilitate corrections
- BUILD:
- Prepare maintenance plan documentation & change management
- Examine maintenance plans for accuracy
- Script maintenance implementations
- Work in either a lead role or an assisting role during maintenance implementations
- IMPROVEMENTS:
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) & Method of Procedures (MOP's)
- Develop network standardization practices
- Document informational content for specialized network designs to be used for training needs
- Present and/or Train on new network typologies, hardware, and technologies to internal teams
- Lead Root Cause Analysis sessions to achieve better networking practices
- Determine baseline requirements for our network needs
- Provide code analysis on existing software, IOS testing, and software recommendations
- Create network lab mockups for error testing
- Automate repetitive Engineering tasks
- ADDITIONAL:
- Responsible for Forescout management and maintenance (as secondary).
- Manages the team's ticket queue and responds on-site to issues.
- Act as 3rd level escalations POC for design or other related problems
- Initial deployment of new products and services
- Monitor capacity and plan for bandwidth additions
- Establish project priority based on business needs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Network Engineering. At the manager's discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement
- Minimum 5-7 years of recent experience with network design and build-out of LAN/WANs and/or large-scale network retrofits and remediations
- Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP solutions, including load balancing and application delivery.
- Must have certifications: CCNA and F5 101
- Preferred certifications: F5 201, F5 301, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP preferred, CCIE (R&S, SP, or DC) highly preferred (or equivalent experience), Python PCEP
- Advanced level experience working with most of the following technologies/applications: MPLS, BGP, LDP, QoS, IPv6, OSPF, vPC, STP, DWDM, EVPN, L2VPN, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, FHRP, VLAN, CDP, port-channels, IS-IS, MPLS Inter-AS, VXLAN, DNS, ACL, RADb, Flowspec, RTBH, GitHub, API's, NFV, Hypervisors, virtual switching
- Multi-vendor experience working with the following platforms: Cisco IOS, ASR 1k (IOS-XE), ASR NCS (IOS-XR), Nexus (NX-OS), Arista (EOS), Junos
- Experience working in a service provider, datacenter/hosting environment, or large-scale enterprise networks.
- Experience researching, evaluating, and recommending hardware and/or software solutions supporting large-scale deployments and/or remediations against the LAN/WAN
- Experience working with 3rd party networking vendors, with an understanding of the service/hardware/software portfolios they provide
- Able to identify areas of process improvement and provide input and solution options to streamline work
- Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical peers.
- Customer service-oriented attitude
- Experience with network service monitoring systems (Arbor, Zenoss, Syslog, SolarWinds, Splunk, Kibana, WhatsUp Gold, etc.)
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $134,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
