Job Summary

The Quality & Regulatory Affairs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities that support compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. This role involves managing document control, coordinating updates to food safety plans, and serving as the point of contact for customer complaints.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and coordinates updates to food safety plans and hazard analyses for animal food facilities
  • Develops fluency in food safety programs to provide facility support and guidance
  • Collaborates with Preventive Control Qualified Individuals (PCQIs) to update food safety plans as there are changes to facility operations, food safety team members, processes, and raw materials
  • Leads PCQIs with food safety plan development and updates including changes to hazard identifications, hazard assessments, template updates, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Manages customer complaint entry, tracking, and resolution
  • Ensures timely communication and documentation, coordinating with facility personnel to achieve rapid closure and response to customer inquiries
  • Coordinates appropriate corporate quality and regulatory affairs personnel to assist with related facility issues
  • Compiles and analyzes data for reporting purposes to be submitted to appropriate personnel on established timelines
  • Participates as a member of the Quality Assurance and Product Safety Team supporting facility management to ensure ongoing compliance to applicable federal, state and local regulations affecting animal food products
  • Supports Quality Assurance and Product Safety Team with relevant information about facility food safety programs and changes therein.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in food safety and quality, Food Science, Animal Science, Quality Management preferred
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Successful applicants must be able to obtain FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food (PCQI) certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of rendering processes, animal byproducts, and/or animal food ingredient processes.
  • Experience with Oracle systems including EBS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
