Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.



  • Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
  • Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Manages care of patients.
  • Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
  • Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Education Requirement

Required Education: ASN.

Preferred Education: BSN.

Required Certifications & Licensure:



  • NIHSS
  • Telemetry
  • BLS-AHA
  • CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Required Skills & Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a MS/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required.
  • Must have a strong MS/Tele background.


Schedule Notes

Location/Facility Name: Ocean University Medical Center

Shift / Timings: 7p-7a (expected arrival 6:45p)

Float Requirement: Yes, as needed to like units

Required Years of Experience: 2

Preferred Years of Experience: 2 or greater

Required Hard Skills: Experience with non-titratable cardiac drips and medication is required

Required Soft Skills: Teamwork oriented

Required Licenses & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, telemetry certified

Scrub Color: Navy

Experience Required: 2 years of Med/Surg experience required. BLS, telemetry and ACLS mandatory. Experience with non-titratable cardiac drips and medication is required.

Patient Ratio: 5-6:1

Responsibilities: RN must be willing and able to treat and manage patients on a unit with a variety of conditions (including but not limited to flu, COVID, heart issues, lung issues, etc).

Hours Per Week: 36.00

Hours Per Day: 12.00

Standard Schedule: 7PM to 7AM, 3x12. 10-13 Week Contract. Every other weekend or as needed. Holidays required as needed.
