Primary Role

The Senior Industrial Electrician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems within the mill, as a working lead on the shop floor. The Senior Industrial Electrician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial equipment. In addition to executing maintenance activities, they will serve as a coach and mentor to other craft personnel. They will support the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Planner in ensuring work is executed at the highest standards and in accordance with the established work management processes.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience as qualified craft personnel (Electrical Discipline) in a heavy industrial environment, preferably in steel, metal, or manufacturing industries.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • In depth experience with PLC, PC, HMI, AC & DC adjustable speed drives, power distribution, hydraulic control systems, and associated interface equipment, such as chart recorders, data acquisition, oscilloscopes, among others.

  • Ability to perform minor hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and crane / rigging work.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems.

  • Knowledgeable in TPM/LEAN preferred.

  • Strong continuous improvement and project/program management skills.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement solutions.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuitry diagrams and drawings preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

  • Ability to operate independently, to multi-task, and to prioritize quickly.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • SAP experience preferred.

  • Solid understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and other safety standards.

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on minimizing downtime.

  • Must be able to meet safety requirements including ANSI fall protection expectations.
