The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Schedules operative procedures via electronic scheduling system, using knowledge of procedures, area of body involved, equipment conflicts, staffing, surgeon preferences, scheduling habits and suite utilization.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Six to twelve months prior experience in a secretarial position

Preferred:

• Medical Background
• EPIC experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time Day
• Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Essential Functions:

• Works independently at the information desk, contacts patient care areas, takes messages and communicates with appropriate persons
• Answers the telephone and interacts with Operating Room staff, physicians, hospital personnel and visitors in a courteous, polite manner
• Communicates information to charge nurse, and OR, any changes in the daily schedule such as add-ons, cancellations or delays
• Calls other units, SDS, holding area, surgical waiting area for any delays
• Correct use of medical terminology and its use when filling out forms, logs and documentation for the operating room
• Keeps phone lists current and updates when needed
