TOGETHER, WE SAVE LIVES OVERVIEW The candidate will be responsible for all the tasks related to the conceptual, preliminary, and final 3D design of small to medium, complex Plastic Injection Molds. The position requires a technical understanding of plastic part and mold design practices, injection molding process, and molding equipment. The successful candidate will be able to take 3D models of plastic parts and design a mold from start to finish including 3D models and dimensions/tolerance drawings. Additional experience with heating and cooling methods for molding equipment is also required. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and 3D model of new injection molds producing high quality models and drawings Mold layout, cooling, ejection and detailed designs. Understanding and interpreting mold filling simulations and cooling analyses Document and release work instructions and models to manufacturing personnel in support of new mold designs QUALIFICATIONS BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or related field, preferred 5+ years of designing plastic injection molds 5+ years 3D modeling experience required (SolidWorks or similar preferred) 3+ years 3 axis CNC programming (CamWorks preferred) Broad knowledge of standard mold components Why work at Safariland?
