Job Description

Mizzou Academy is seeking a Student Support Specialist I who enjoys working closely with students and families, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to an innovative K-12 learning environment. This role is at the heart of our school community, supporting students, families, faculty, staff, and contracted partners every step of the way.

The Student Support Specialist I serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and enrolled secondary students and their families, playing a key role in admissions processing, ongoing student support, and day-to-day operational coordination. If you like being the person who helps things run smoothly and makes people feel supported while doing it, this role might be for you.

Working alongside school counselors and the student support team, the Student Support Specialist I provides student-centered guidance via email and phone, keeps communication flowing across teams, and helps connect students with the academic and support resources they need to succeed. This position blends meaningful direct student interaction with behind-the-scenes administrative and clerical work.

Our team is collaborative, mission-driven, and fast-paced, and while we work hard, we genuinely enjoy what we do and have fun doing it.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

In-Person with Flexibility

Full-Time: 40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience working with data and exported data, as well as experience providing customer service over the phone and via email. Experience in a school setting is preferred, including familiarity with security policies such as FERPA, GDPR, and LGPD. Proficiency with Maestro SIS, Canvas, Google, and Smartsheet is a plus. We are looking for someone who has experience working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.32 per hour

Grade: GGS-006
