Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer to join our security team. This role will be responsible for enhancing our cloud security posture-designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across diverse cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with cloud-native security tools, strong collaboration skills, and a proactive mindset to identify and mitigate threats.

As the Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer , your main responsibilities will be:

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls in cloud environments
• Develop and enforce IAM policies, least-privilege access, key management, and secure configuration standards
• Monitor cloud security events, investigate alerts, and recommend mitigation steps
• Integrate and manage cloud security tools (e.g., Prisma, Wiz, CrowdStrike, etc.)
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews for cloud-native applications
• Automate security tasks using scripting (Python, PowerShell) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane)
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain cloud security documentation, guidelines, and incident response runbooks
• Provide training and advisory support to development teams on secure coding and cloud best practices

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of hands-on cloud security engineering experience
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, encryption, and container security
• Experience with Kubernetes and securing container ecosystems
• Proven experience with cloud security tools such as Prisma, Wiz, CrowdStrike, etc.
• Experienced in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Shell) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane)
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices in CI/CD pipelines

Desirable:

• Familiarity with SIEM/XDR systems (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, ELK) and cloud-native monitoring
• Familiar with compliance frameworks including CMMC, NIST 800-171, and NIST 800-53
• Relevant security certifications: Security+, CCSP, AWS/GCP/Azure Security Specialty, CISSP, etc.
• Prior cybersecurity incident response experience
• Knowledge of zero-trust architectures and SASE frameworks

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000 annually

HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
