Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol

As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned educational and cultural location, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public areas, and perimeter spaces, helping to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will complete routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, assist staff and visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with your team. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, academic spaces, offices, loading and storage areas, and the exterior grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Control access at designated entrances and interior checkpoints by verifying credentials, directing visitor flow, and supporting special events and/or after-hours programs.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public responders as needed.
• Document patrol observations, incident details, and service requests in daily activity logs and reports, and communicate notable conditions to oncoming personnel and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card and/or security professional license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
