Site Reliability Engineer

The Opportunity:

Install, configure, and maintain mid-range operating systems. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Support primary O&M systems to ensure they are capable of operating on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including 8 and 9. Work through cryptography issues with password-based encryptions, configuring Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) and working with other tools, as required by our authority to operate. Provide support to both the applications as well as custom installation scripts. Assist in monitoring and sustaining applications onsite until they are decommissioned.

You Have:

  • Experience working with Java, Java Persistence API (JPA), Java Web Services (JAX-RS), Java Cryptography Extension (JCE), Hibernate, JavaScript, APache Ant, Apache HTTPD, and Apache Tomcat

  • Knowledge of Apache Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle DB, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9

  • Knowledge of FIPS mode, SELinux, firewall daemon (firewalld), file access policy daemon (fapolicyd), and basic system administration

  • Ability to perform daily systems administration

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience with systems administration, or Master's degree and 8+ years of experience with systems administration

  • Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification before start date

  • Experience working in a classified environment

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
