Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Site in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, assist riders and staff with directions and concerns, and document observations clearly. You will support access control, respond to calls for service, and communicate with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation facilities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management, service disruptions and/or medical situations until additional resources arrive.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, buildings and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance, lighting and/or access concerns.
  • Control access where assigned by monitoring doors, gates and restricted areas, verifying credentials when required and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, monitor cameras and/or alarms when assigned and communicate with supervisors and public agency partners as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
