RN Description:

Overview

Provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. May include variable shifts, weekends, holiday and or on-call hours. Performs other duties as assigned including floating to various units based on identified needs and clinical competency.

Schedule: 32 hours on pm shift

Location: Harvard Hospital

Pay Range: $34.45 - $51.68

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.

  • Documents according to standards of care.

  • Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.

  • Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.

  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.

  • Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units' departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.

  • Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.

  • Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

Licensed as an RN in IL

Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the Driver's License Check and or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written or oral instructions.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

LPN Description:

OVERVIEW Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in an inpatient setting by performing the following duties supporting the nursing philosophy. May include day, evening, night, weekend, holiday, and/or on-call hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 32 hours on pm shift

Location: Harvard Hospital

Pay Range:$23.18-37.10

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides quality patient care by performing treatments and procedures according to established protocols.

  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment

  • Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure, licensure, and State Practice Act.

  • Responds in a safe and timely manner to patient requests and reports significant observations to the RN promptly.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's plan of care and delivers care safely and within established standards and guidelines. Participates in planning for patient's care by providing input to the RN and under the direction of the RN, assists in implementing the patient care plan.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of established hospital and nursing policies. Identifies emergency situations, initiates nursing measures as appropriate within scope of practice in emergency situations and seeks assistance and direction as necessary.

  • Instructs patients in self-care according to the teaching plan and the directions of the RN. Documents this aspect of the patient's care.

  • Participates in QA & I.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited LPN Program OR

Illinois: Have completed the designated curriculum of a Ladder Option Approved Designated RN Program.

Experience in clinical/hospital setting preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in IL
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days

PAY RANGE:

$34.45 - $51.68
