THE POSITION

The Office of Children, Youth and Families is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childline Supervisor to help lead our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will supervise Childline Caseworkers who receive referrals of suspected child abuse and neglect from mandated and non-mandated reporters then referring them to the appropriate agencies for investigation. Your work will involve establishing performance standards and expectations, monitoring employee performance, and providing constructive feedback through coaching. You will ensure adequate staffing and share information with staff regarding policy changes and guidelines. Some of your duties will include developing and conducting staff training, providing technical assistance to staff, and providing on-call consultation. Additionally, you will review and recommend suggestions to assist in the creation of material to spread public awareness about child abuse and neglect. Please note, this position is considered essential and you will be required to work in the event of an office closing, emergency, or disaster.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours: shift schedule to be determined

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a ChildLine Caseworker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of professional experience in the development, implementation, or evaluation of a human services or social services program, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Four years of paraprofessional experience in human services or social services work, and one year of professional experience in the development, implementation, or evaluation of a human services or social services program; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
