Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 2 to join our team in the Medical Unit. This role will be full-time night shift, 7pm - 7:30am. Days vary. Candidates must be able to work any weekday when scheduled, rotating weekends. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6-week training period at start of role, with an initial Monday-Friday schedule.

Clinical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; and works cooperatively with others.
  • Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
  • Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
  • Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
  • Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
  • Assumes responsibility for self-development in life-long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
  • Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV's, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Shift: nights (7pm - 7:30am)
Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week - must be able to work all weekdays when scheduled, Monday - Friday as needed (with every other weekend rotation)
Training: Candidate must be able to attend a paid six-week Monday-Friday training course, including virtual training days, classroom training days, and hospital shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: 1-year acute care experience as a Clinical Technician or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
