| Organizational Unit Overview |
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine (herein referred to as Psychiatry) exists as a coequal department with full departmental status within the organizational structure of the Brody school of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is dedicated to providing excellence in education, patient care, research, and service in mental health.

The Department ensures that the academic mission of the Brody School of Medicine is met while providing excellent patient care at our primary teaching facility,
ECU Health Medical Center and several on-campus and satellite outpatient clinics. These clinics are located in Greenville and across eastern North Carolina. |
| Job Duties |
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine seeks a highly professional, detailed oriented and organized candidate to serve as the Coordinator for the Medical Student Education Clerkship.
Coordinate Medical Student Education within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine:
- Coordinate lectures and schedules for M-I - M-IV classes to include communicating with all lecturers, compiling and producing in-depth course syllabus;
- Coordinator is responsible for the flow of information between internal and external agencies regarding programs, policies and related education matters such as evaluations and course information;
- Coordinator must be able to independently prioritize and coordinate multifaceted demands from Faculty and Students and at the same time meet the educational calendar deadlines established by the School of Medicine;
- The Coordinator must work with outside agencies and physicians within the community mental health teaching centers to assure the medical student learning experience is complete;
- Individual orients all M-1, M-II, M-III and M-IV students
Canvas Course Administration:
- Responsible for creating new courses on Canvas;
- Ensuring that all fall and spring courses are up-to-date and accurate; Posting lecture information and announcements prior to classes each week;
- Posting of exam grades
Other duties include website administration which consist of adding new faculty, staff and resident information, as well as requested such as adding publication, updating specific department information and making sure all
ECU policies, procedures and guidelines are at all times current, providing administrative support to faculty, processing of travel request, ordering of supplies, sorting and handling mail, back up to the Executive Assistant and other duties as assigned. |
