Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison

Position Type Full-Time, Temporary (March-November 2026)

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison leads field-based delivery of emergency preparedness programming for refugee communities across Southeast Michigan. Newly resettled populations face unique challenges-including language barriers, unfamiliarity with U.S. emergency systems, and limited support networks-which increase vulnerability during emergencies.

This role focuses on proactive outreach, culturally and linguistically appropriate education, and direct community engagement to ensure individuals and families are informed and prepared before emergencies occur. The Liaison works closely with community partners and refugee populations to build trust, deliver trainings, and strengthen community resilience through consistent in-person interaction and regional travel.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate community-based emergency preparedness workshops, trainings, and small-group coaching sessions
  • Support delivery of webinars and preparedness education initiatives
  • Conduct in-person outreach and engagement within refugee communities - UP TO 20% TRAVEL
  • Distribute preparedness kits, materials, and critical resources
  • Support multilingual digital outreach and awareness campaigns
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations under guidance of the Engagement & Coordination Manager
  • Assist with continuity of operations (COOP) planning activities
  • Maintain accurate eligibility, service, and participation records
  • Track program outputs and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Deliver services in culturally and linguistically appropriate ways, including coordinating interpretation services as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience delivering community-based programs, trainings, or outreach initiatives
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Multilingual ability in at least one of the following: Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Ukrainian, or Spanish
  • Experience working with refugee or immigrant populations preferred
  • Background in emergency preparedness, public health, or community resilience preferred
  • Remote and field-based role with regular travel across Southeast Michigan
  • Evening and weekend work may be required based on community needs
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
