Position Overview

Boston Medical Center - Brighton is seeking aPhysician Assistant (PA)to join our growingPhysical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of arevitalized campus and expanding specialty service line, focused on delivering high-quality musculoskeletal and spine care to the community.



Reporting to department leadership and working under the supervision of a Physiatrist, the PA will play a key role in bothdirect patient care and program development, helping to build and shape PM&R services at BMC Brighton.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care inoutpatient clinic and inpatient consult settings
  • Performhistory and physical exams, develop diagnoses, and implement treatment plans
  • Order and interpretdiagnostic studiesincluding imaging, labs, EMG, and nerve conduction studies (NCS)
  • Performmusculoskeletal (MSK) injections, including ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Assist withspecialized procedures(e.g., Botox, spine-related interventions)
  • Conductinpatient consultations, rounding, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with physicians onspine triage and care pathways
  • Managelongitudinal care for complex rehabilitation and spine patients
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
  • Complete timely documentation, orders, andprescribing (DEA required)
  • Performpeer-to-peer insurance reviewsto support timely care delivery
  • Coordinate care across departments to ensureefficient, patient-centered outcomes
  • Supportreferring provider outreach and service line growth initiatives
  • Track clinical outcomes and contribute toquality improvement efforts

Qualifications
Required

  • Graduate of anARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active Massachusetts PA license
  • DEA registration
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills


Preferred

  • Experience inPM&R, Spine, Pain Management, or Orthopedics
  • Experience withultrasound-guided procedures
  • Familiarity withEMG/NCS interpretation

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time,Monday-Friday schedule (1.0 FTE)
  • Blend of:

    • Outpatient clinic
    • Inpatient consults and rounding
    • Procedural care
    • On-site at BMC Brighton





Compensation Range:

$109,000.00- $158,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
