Overview

Cyber Threat Intelligence mission is to lead Information Security's cyber threat intelligence efforts supporting activities critical to protecting the Credit Union's enterprise and members; distribute intelligence to internal stakeholders regarding cyber threats to the Credit Union and collaborate with external partners to share intelligence on emerging threats.

The Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern is responsible for supporting a range of operational tasks within tactical, operational, strategic intelligence efforts or collection management functions. The Intern's daily duties involve assisting with various tasks which may include one or more of the following: daily intelligence collection and triage, intelligence sharing, managing intelligence content in a threat intelligence platform, developing threat profiles, curating Indicators of Compromise (IoC) in a threat intelligence platform and researching in security tools, dark web research and brand abuse operations, tracking threat entity infrastructure, researching priority vulnerabilities and associated threats and sharing intelligence through various information sharing communities.

Information consumed in these duties will result in daily and ad hoc intelligence products authored by the analyst and disseminated to various stakeholders throughout the Credit Union.

Responsibilities

  • Support intelligence collection, triage and analysis of information obtained through intelligence sources
  • Support research on one or more of the following: threat actor groups, malware, brand impersonation, threats to key service providers, and high impact vulnerabilities
  • Share intelligence through trusted communities of interest
  • Write daily and ad hoc intelligence reports which describe threats and their tactics for a range of audiences
  • Process and update data in automated systems; may generate and analyze reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to develop specific expertise, discern patterns of complex threat actor behavior, and communicate an understanding of current and developing cyber threats
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to document results
  • Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely to a range of audiences, including varying levels of employees, manager and executives, or vendors
  • Must be pursing degree from an accredited college/university
