A Taste of What You'll Do

  • Prepare the tasting room for daily opening and closing, present wines for tasting, describe winemaking techniques and winery history, and represent the brand professionally and enthusiastically while providing exceptional hospitality to all visitors.
  • Promote and sell wine and non-wine products, process purchases, phone orders, and wine shipping orders accurately using cash registers and credit card terminals, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with stocking and displaying retail items, participate in inventory management, counts, and audits, while effectively communicating the brand message to consumers.
  • Verify guest identification per state regulations, recognize signs of intoxication and notify management, and ensure all service adheres to legal and company standards.
  • Maintain tasting room cleanliness and organization, operate commercial dishwashing equipment, and ensure all glassware, dishware, and cookware are properly cleaned, polished, and restocked.

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing, or teaching and educating others experience.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Required to engage in frequent walking and standing.
  • Required to multi-task with focus on detail and switch gears quickly.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole

numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing, or wine education experience.
  • Knowledge of wine and wine production.

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
