Summary Job Description: NICU Clinical Assistant Weekend Program Weekly Hours: 15.50 Status: Part Time Shift: 1st The NICU Clinical Assistant provides patient support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the supervision and delegation of the Manager, Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, and clinical dietician. In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the NICU Clinical Assistant is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, preparation and delivery of human milk and specialized enteral formulas as ordered in the electronic medical record (EMR). The NICU Clinical Assistant adheres to preparation techniques in accordance with all sanitation regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the medical center, including all policies and procedures. The NICU Clinical Assistant may weigh, diaper, bath, hold, and PO feed stable infants under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The NICU Clinical Assistant will regularly interact with the Supervisor, Registered Nurses, pharmacists, physicians, unit secretaries, and parents/caregivers.
