Mechanical Design Engnineer, Product Design

As a Mechanical Engineer in the Product Design team, you will be involved with a great variety of design challenges: Energy products, charging products, vehicle accessories, lifestyle products, environments, etc. The scope of the work will be primarily to collaborate and support the product designers with engineering expertise. Part of the collaboration will also involve being part of the creative process; the scope of which could range from, brainstorming as a group, to strategies to transition ideas to mass production, material selection, etc.The ME will be the de facto engineering, manufacturing expert within the product design team.

• Research, prototype, and design mechanical systems and components for Tesla vehicles and energy products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative, production-ready designs that support Tesla's mission of sustainable energy
• Use advanced CAD tools to create, analyze, and optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and durability
• Support root cause analysis, testing, and validation of mechanical systems throughout the product lifecycle
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes and contribute to technical standards across the engineering team

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 6-8years relevant experience
• Advancedskills with 3D Cad software (Catia, SolidWorks, etc.)
• Able tobuild prototypes and proof-of-principle models
• Creative problem solving
